Wednesday, May 2nd, will be Milwaukee Beer Society’s fifth Sour Session tasting. Every few months we do a sour session featuring certain types of sour beers. This time we will be focusing specifically on the differences between sour, wild, and funky beers. This will include beers that focus on tart and acidic flavor profiles compared with beers that focus more on an earthy, funk flavor profile. We’ll explore brewing techniques along with various yeast strains such as Lactobacillus and Brettanomyces to discover the unique qualities they impart on the world of sour beer.
