Calling all homebrewers! It’s “brew and tell” time. On Saturday, May 6th, MobCraft Beer will be opening up our production area for homebrewers to show off their systems and make some beer. (You’ll actually be making wort, as you will need to add your yeast and ferment at home to make it beer.)

MobCraft will supply the malted barley, hops. MobCraft will be sharing these ingredients (and recipes) with all registered homebrewers to create their own take on a MobCraft featured limited release beer—Rhubarb IPA— while MobCraft will also be brewing on their commercial system at the same time.

Beginning at 11am, MobCraft will open the brewing floor to RSVP’d homebrewers, and then again at noon to the public interested in networking with other homebrewers or learning more about the process. The registration form for homebrewers, as well as visitors, can be found below.

Enter to Win a Spike Brewing Kettle

As part of this event and past homebrew meetings, our friends at Spike Brewing have been kind enough to donate a 10 gallon brew kettle to Milwaukee Beer Society which we’ll be raffling off to our homebrewing members. Entries for the raffle will be collected through May 6th, 2017 for Big Brew / National Homebrew Day in conjunction with AHA (American HomeBrewers Association).

How to enter the raffle

Bring beer to MBS homebrew meetings (2/15/17 & 4/5/17)

• 1 entry per distinct homebrew shared
  -limit 3 per meeting-

Brew/Participate at a homebrew event (2/11/17 & 5/6/17)

• 2 entries for showing your system
• 1 entry for sharing homebrew

Wort Giveaway

For those unable to bring in your own system, we are also doing a limited wort giveaway.

• Limited to 5 gallons per person
• Please bring a pre-sanitized fermentation vessel
• Wort pick-up time estimated between 3-5pm
